Above is a photo taken last week of an old television (the kind with a cathode ray tube labeled as hazardous material by the EPA) floating in Dog River. It is the same television which a resident asked the City of Mobile to remove back in 2012. It is the same television I pointed out to the environmental authorities and City of Mobile in an April complaint this year. It is the same television which three successive spring and fall annual Coastal Cleanup events have failed to remove even though it floats only about 1/2 a mile away from Dog River Park which is the hub for the annual Dog River cleanup.
Welcome to the Shity of Mobile where despite complaints the leaders apparently don't give a shit what is floating in the navigable waterways within their City limits. Someone should be fired.
Welcome to the Alabama the Ugly where Governor Robert Bentley doesn't give a shit what is floating in navigable State waterways. I've asked the Governor to get Mobile's waterways cleaned up for YEARS and look what I still have to kayak in - trash, sewage and hazardous materials (literally).
Thanks to Governor Bentley's leadership, Alabama recently ranked as one of the "10 most corrupt States" where more than expected is spent on government activities and services that are susceptible to manipulation for private gain. [1]
Governor Robert Bentley is apparently so rich he does not need to take a salary. While Bentley flaunts his wealth, Alabama waterways are seriously polluted. Why? Thanks to the Bentley, Alabama recently ranked next to last, AGAIN in the amount States spend to protect their state's environment. [2] That's why!
Anti-environment Governor Robert Bentley will definitely NOT be getting my vote.
